SOPHIA RAVENNA

President

Hello, I am the president of our chapter of National Honor Society: a club aimed at granting students the opportunity to give back to and get involved in their community. My goal for NHS this year is to make the search for leadership and volunteer opportunities as effortless as possible. This website was created in hopes of giving you a clear and comprehensive place to keep up to date and engaged with NHS. And although we are amidst a global pandemic, our cabinet will work its hardest to provide you with an abundance of virtual and, if possible, in-person service events. I am so excited! This will be a great year!

GRACE WILSON

Vice President

I am Co-Founder and Co-President of LBHS Paws in the Quad Club, where I organize the business aspect of therapy dog and reptile events for stress relief during finals. I am also Co-President of local philanthropy organization Assistance League, where we provide meals, care packages, and organize events for our surrounding community. I will use my leadership and organizational skills to expand our NHS chapter by providing members with service and leadership opportunities to better our community.

SHELBY THOMAS

Secretary

I am the secretary for Assistance League of Laguna Beach, as well as for NHS. I truly have a passion for organization and note-taking (I wish I was exaggerating). I plan on using this skill to build NHS, making each meeting productive and necessary. I look forward to meeting more creative, outside-of-the-box individuals in this club and working together to better our community.

PEARL SINCLAIR

Public Relations

Hello, my name is Pearl Sinclair! I am the service coordinator of LBHS's National Honor Society! Attending LBHS all four years and participating in NHS for my second year, I am well-prepared to assist every new club member this year. I can not wait to see all of your lovely faces on Zoom! I have volunteered at UC Irvine Medical Center & Ocean Institute for all four years of high school. I enjoy pottery & the beach (like every Laguna kid lol). I am always here for questions, so feel free to reach out to me or any of my other cabinet members!

MRS. COWLES

Club Advisor

Mrs. Cowles has been at Laguna Beach High School for over 15 years, teaching mostly US History and AP US History.  She lives in Ladera Ranch with her husband, son, and two naughty cats.  While she loves history, she loves connecting with students even more!  As the faculty advisor for the LBHS chapter of the National Honor Society, Mrs. Cowles is able to connect with, support, and encourage students as they work hard to succeed.  NHS gives students access to a nationwide network of support and opportunities while giving back to the community through service projects.
"Participating in NHS during these uncertain times gives students a connection to other students and opportunities to grow and give.  It's going to be a great year!" - Mrs. Cowles
